CEO’s Message

As Pennsylvania’s First Cyber Charter School, Sus-Q has been improving and innovating since 1998. We offer comprehensive and individualized plans to ensure that all of our students experience success as they put to use the Skills for Success as defined in our STEM Vision Statement:

“SusQ Cyber Charter School inspires learners to become confident, curious problem-solvers who are    contributors and leaders in their communities through collaboration, effective and appropriate use of          technology, communication, resourcefulness, and inquiry.”

These skills are woven into our synchronous class settings as students receive direct instruction provided by PA Certified Teachers. Our dedicated teachers design their standards-aligned lesson incorporating a variety of learning strategies including project-based learning, the engineering design process, visual thinking strategies and inquiry-based lessons. Teachers are also available four evenings a week to work with students during their virtual office hours.

Sus-Q is a safe, state-of-the-art environment that provides an option for parents and students who feel like their educational needs may not have been met in the traditional public education setting. If they so choose, students have the opportunity to accelerate their high school education and obtain their diploma in 3 ½ years. Additionally, Sus-Q offers an educational co-op program that allows our students to earn high school credit for the jobs that they hold. Job- shadowing and our college experience are additional ways that our students broaden their high school experience.

I encourage you to continue to learn about all our school has to offer by exploring our website or visiting us on our Facebook page. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.

Sincerely,

Patricia A. Leighow
